FAQ's on Web Hosting
- Will you place ads on my site?
- We do NOT place ads on your site unless you instruct.
- Do you allow sites to advertise for money, on their web site?
- Yes. Its your site and you can have commercial advertisements.
- What forms of payment do you accept?
- Bank deposit, paypal, international credit cards, mpesa and cash or check to our offices.
- Can I pay monthly?
- Yes, you may pay monthly. We strongly advise yearly or semi-annual payment for which discounted prices are advertised.
- Is tax included with my monthly or yearly plan?
- Yes, tax is included in the price.
- What type of servers do you use?
- Linux.
- What control panel do you use and do you have a demo?
- We use Parallel Plesk panel. Go to Control Panel for a Client demo.
- What is the difference between Unix and Windows shared hosting services?
- The platform that you choose depends on what advanced technology your web site uses.
- Unix: Supports PHP scripting, MySQL database, Frontpage extensions, Real Audio/Video streams, Linux based platform
- Windows: Supports ColdFusion, IIS, VBSCript, Windows Media, ASP scripting, MSSQL database, .NET framework, Windows based platform
- Can I host friends?
- Yes, you may host your friends within your bandwidth limits. We recomend either Web Premier for a 2-3 extra sites or Web Enterprise if you want to host many sites.
- How long does it take to setup my account?
- Your account will be setup automatically within 30 minutes of order completion and payment confirmation. This takes longer when using check payment.
- Are there any hidden costs, or setup fees?
- You pay what is advertised, No less no more.
- Do you offer telnet or shell access?
- Yes, we do offer telnet or shell access with certain accounts.
- Can I password protect directories?
- Yes you can password protect directorie from your control panel.
- What should I consider in a web host company?
- Choosing a reputable host company is an important step when determining where to host a web site. Since switching providers is a bad and costly errand in itself, it is important that you get it right first time. Assess the quality of a web host before signing up with them. Consider the following:
- At least five years of experience.
- Does the hosting provider offer power and UPS backup?
- What extras are in the hosting package that you need.
- Does the hosting provider offer 24 hour phone support?
- Why cant I just pick the cheapest Web hosting company?

- How much disk Space do I need?

- How much traffic "bandwidth" do I need?
- Traffic depends on two things - the size of the files that are requested and transferred from your website, and the number of visitors coming in and out of your site. For a new web site, the amount of traffic is likely to be low and the bandwidth is not a big factor. For sites with high visitor volume, pick a package with a higher bandwidth. Preferably start small and upgrade plan as your traffic grows.
- What contract term should I sign up for?
- Afrifotostock.net offers discounts if you pre-pay for a longer term up front. Signing up for longer periods saves on time and the possibility of discontinued service if one forgets to pay in time. If you find a reputable host, it is more cost effective to sign onto a longer term.
